布宜诺斯艾利斯集中了阿根廷共和国大部分人口,是世界上人口最多的20个城市之一。它位于拉普拉塔河沿岸,沿着公园大道的范围限定了城市的大部分边界。外围大多数区域的污水排入河流,使其污染严重。尽管该城市融合了拉丁美洲文化,但是战后移民浪潮带来的欧洲文化仍然起着决定性的作用,因而整个城市散发出一种独特的魅力。通过对布宜诺斯艾利斯这样一个具有丰富多元内涵城市的描述、叙事和解读,本文尝试从多个角度展示这座城市的丰富性,既展现出这座城市生动、有机的整体状态,又没有回避城市的不完美这一无法改变的事实。
Buenos Aires concentrates most of the inhabitants of the Argentine Republic and is one of the twenty most-populous cities in the world. It is situated on the shores of the Rio de la Plata, along the specific limits of a vast park-avenue, which outlines great part of its perimeter. The presence of this highly contaminated river which receives waters of the greater periphery stands out. The city conveys a particular energy as a result of a fusion between Latin American culture and the direct and decisive European influence received with the various postwar migration waves. Through description, narration, and subsequent understanding of the metropolis as a complex urban project, this text depicts multiple and diverse situations which are typical of the city, with the purpose of also comprehending the city as a living organism which incorporates imperfection as an unalterable fact.
