A Discussion on Space Efficiency of Urban Form

从空间关联的角度,探讨了几个关于城市空间形态的基本问题,如为什么城市不是连续而匀质的方格网、为什么城市会出现分区的现象等。基于这些基本几何规律,提出空间效率的概念,分析其与城市功能布局的关系,并将这些研究运用到实际案例之中。

This article, from a point of view of spatial configuration, discussed several basic questions about urban space form. For example, why is a city not a continuous and homogenous grid? And why is a city partitioned into different parts? Based on several fundamental laws of geometry, it proposed a concept of space efficiency, and made an analysis of its relationship to functional distribution. Finally, all those studies were applied to a real project.
