摘要
英文指称在篇章连贯方面有着重要作用。根据湖南大学39位英语专业二年级学生的英语写作内容的研究,主要发现:(1)在英语专业学生的写作中,人称指称使用最多,指示指称次之,比较指称最少;人称指称中,主格使用最多,代名词使用最少。(2)英语熟练程度的不同对第三人称单数主格阴性指称"她"的习得有显著影响。(3)英文指称的错误类型多样,主要有性、数、格不一致,指称混用,不恰当的省略或重复指称而引起的语义不明等。这些错误类型主要由于母语迁移引起,表明了英语专业学生对英文指称的习得处于中介语的不同阶段。因此,老师们的英语指称教学应略倾斜于人称指称,而学生们在学习时应克服害怕犯错的消极心理。
English reference plays a significant role in the coherence of discourse. After analyzing the English articles written by 39 sophomore students of Hunan University who majored in English,it is found that:( 1) personal reference appears most frequently in their writing,followed by demonstrative reference and comparative reference,and among personal reference,the number of nominative is the largest,while that of pronominal is the smallest;( 2) different levels of proficiency in English mainly influence the acquisition of third person female reference strikingly;( 3) there are various error types concerning reference use,e. g. the incompatibility of gender,number and case,vagueness caused bymix usage of reference,inappropriate ellipsis or redundancies of reference,etc. The reasons for these reference error types are chiefly due to L1 transfer,indicating distinguished phases of inter-language represented by diverse proficient participants. Therefore,the focus of teaching of English reference should be on personal reference teaching,and students should overcome the fear of making mistakes during the learning process.
