这是一篇作者近些年来在制度经济学领域中探索的初步理论总结性文章。借对美国经济学家肖特的《社会制度的经济理论》评论,作者对什么是英文的"institution",什么是中文的"制度",制度是如何产生的,以及制度在市场中的作用谈了一些看法。本文还对当今世界上制度经济学研究的三大流派做了一些理论评述,并对未来制度经济学的发展趋势做了一些展望。

It is a tentative theoretical summarization of the studies on in- stitutional economics.By reviewing on The Economic Theory of Social Institu- tions written by American economist Andrew Schotter,the author offers some opinions on the meanings of'institution'in both English and Chinese,the for- mation of institution and the function of institution in the market.Meanwhile, it also reviews on the three major schools of thought on institutional economics in the current world and gives some pictures of the developing trend of future institutional economics.
