By reviewing the design ways of classical gardens, this paper discusses the impact and challenges of social life in modem times on Chinese classical gardens design, attempting to find out a way of modern gardens design, which much more suits the esthetic sentiment and perception of modern people and highlights the variety in garden theme and space hierarchy. Moreover, architecture design of modern gardens is another discussion subject stressed in this paper.
