Based on the experimental study of local scour around bridge pier in-layered soil foundation, it is suggested that the analytical expression of local scour around bridge pier in two layer soil bed by steady flow can. be formulated asThis formula has been preliminarily verfied by experimental records, which shows its rationality and applicability.In addition, this paper presented the experimental results on local scour around bridge pier in two layer soil bed by unsteady flow. The results are compared with local scour around bridge piers in two layer soil bed by corresponding steady flow.
