太湖水乡今昔

Yesterday and Today of Taihu Water Region

1962年同济大学城市规划专业毕业论文选题之一是“太湖水网地区城镇建筑群空间处理”,毕业生曾繁智,论文命题和指导老师是董鉴泓先生。太湖水乡地区近些年来持续成为经济发展的热点地区,城镇面貌发生着巨大的变化。发表40年前的这一论文的主要成果,又补拍一些新近的照片,今昔对照呈现鲜明的对比,也引发了对古镇保护和经济发展的进一步思考。

41 years ago a graduate finished a dissertation 'The Architecture and Town Space of Taihu Water Region' , illustrated the characters of the historic small towns. While investigating these towns, he drew many sketches. Today this region has been the most developed area in China, and continued to be the key region of economic development. While the people are getting better, the traditional towns are getting disappeared. Now the graduate and his adviser discuss the tremendous change, and show the lively contrast through yesterday’s sketches and today’s pictures.
