摘要 什么是图书馆,图书馆是什么性质的机构和组织?有各种各样的解释。 日本《(广厶)辞苑》解释:图书馆是搜集、保管大量书籍,供公众阅览的设施。 法国《大拉鲁斯百科全书》中的图书馆一词认为:图书馆的任务是保存用各种不同文字写成的、用多种方式表达的人类思想资料,……图书馆收藏各种类别的、组织起来的图书资料和期刊资料,这些资料用于学习、研究或一般情报。 根据《苏联大百科全书》
