Rustic Opinion of Gandhara Bodhisattva Sacred Thread

犍陀罗菩萨像身上的庄严宝饰开启了璎珞的先河。菩萨(bodhisattva)在犍陀罗佛造像中扮演着重要的角色,因为菩萨本身能近距离与信徒接触,从而度化众生。圣线作为菩萨身上璎珞的组成部分之一,有着独特的发展与意义,因此对其样式及特征进行细致的分析尤为重要。本文从犍陀罗菩萨像圣线的三种样式,数量及含义进行分析,以期为未来的发展提供借鉴。

The statue of gandhara bodhisattvas set precedent of wreaths. Bodhisattva plays an important role in the statue of gandhara, because the bodhisattva himself is able to reach out to the believers in close distance, thereby preaching the living beings. As one of the parts of the wreaths on the body of bodhisattva, the sacred thread has unique development and significance, so it is very important to analyze its style and characteristics in details. This paper analyzes the three styles, quantities and meanings of gandhara bodhisattva’s holy line in order to provide reference for future development.
