从Helvetica字体的起源和发展的陈述入手,基于当代的设计思维和印刷技术背景,讨论了Helvetica的历史和应用。以比喻的形式探讨了Helvetica中性、规范、整洁等造型特点,并且从Helvetica的这些造型特点为基础,论述了该字体高度流行的原因。另一方面,以批判的眼光,研究了Helvetica在当下设计环境中的应用短板,并试图寻求其背后的成因。最后,以中立的态度得出开放性的结论,对全球化背景之下键盘时代的字体设计进行了一定的思考。

Starting from the the origins and developing history of Helvetica.Based on the design thoughts and the printing technique,it discussed the history and application of Helvetica. It discussed the neutral, standard and neat form features of Helvetica in the form of metaphor. On the basis of form features of Helvetica,it investigated the reason of the high prevalence of Helvetica.On the other hand,it studied the shortcomings of Helvetica in the design environment nowadays,and tried to ifnd the origin of it. Finaly,it deduction to the neutral conclusion and undertook relfection of the font design in the background of globalization in the keyboard era.
