The literary multidimensional comparison can help the works developing around the evolution of their own track focus on a parallel space. In terms of the modernism perspective, this paper tries to analyze and make a comparison between Hardy's last work Jude the Obscure and Conrad's first novel Almayer's Folly. During the process, the modernism similarities including the failure and disillusionment, alienation and loneliness, ambiguity and polysemy come out gradually. And the similar working characteristics carry the literary heritage and resonance in the synchronic and diachronic development.
