略论《英汉大词典》(第2版)的“中国词条”问题

作为一部大型辞书,《英汉大词典》(第2版)不可避免地存在着一些不足之处。本文选取其"中国词条"为研究对象,从问题的发现、成因和对策三方面入手,探讨《英汉大词典》(第2版)如何能更好地反映有关中国的语言信息这一主题。

Like any other voluminous work of lexicography,The English-Chinese Dictionary (Second Edition) is not free from imperfections. In this article,the present author attempts to study its entries about China by focusing his attention on these three aspects:the problems,the causes of them,and the solutions to them,with a view to helping to improve the Dictionary's presentation of the philological information about China.
