从顺天府学堂到顺天高等学堂——河北师范大学校史溯源

From Shuntian School to Shuntian College ——Tracking down the origin of Hebei Normal University

在清末新旧教育更替的特定阶段 ,判定某所新式学堂是否具有高等教育性质不能仅以其名称为标准 ,更应考察其不同办学层次间的过渡性与继承性 ;创设于 190 2年的顺天府学堂具有某些高等教育性质 ,它与顺天高等学堂一脉相连 ,是今日河北师范大学的最早源头。顺天府学堂 (顺天高等学堂 )培养了一批杰出人才 。

During the given period in the late Qing Dynasty when the old education was giving way to the new,the assessment of a college should not based on its name but on its nature.The Shuntian School founded in 1902 was actually a college in its own right and therefore should be regarded as predecessor of Shuntian College which is the origin of HNU.Shuntian School and Shuntian Co llege cultivated a lot of outstanding talents and were historically significaut in local secondary education and higher education.
