The paper gives the concept of fractal and fractal dimesion,and it proves primarily, by analysing the calculated fractal dimension of Liaohe fault depression oilfield, that Liaohe oilfid also obeys the rule of fractal distribution and their size can be presented by fractal dimension. With further more researchment of fractal dimension, we can provide facts of oilfield potential productivity.
