After the '9.11' accident, every part of the world seems to be placed under the shadow of terrorism. As vulnerable as ports, container transportation and vessels are, the international maritime industry has been brought to the front line of anti-terrorism. The maritime anti-terrorism asks for urgent preparedness. However, the maritime anti-terrorism act prepared by some countries has affected the development of the world shipping economy and the hegemonic nature of those anti-terrorism strategies have even caused disputes over sovereignties. So, the outcome needs to be tested by time and the maritime anti-terrorism is yet an arduous task.
