A novel scheme is proposed for channel estimation of WCDMA downlink where a pilot channel is simultaneously combined with a data traffic channel. The proposed scheme exploits channel information in both pilot and data traffic channels by combining channel estimates from these two channels. The computer simulation results show that the performance of the Rake receiver is improved effectively.
