摘要
北美殖民地成功地建立了9所高等教育机构。特殊的自然环境以及稀少的人口使得高等教育从开始就与公共服务和社区文化紧密结合。特殊的边疆环境,使得社区群体的公共含义在殖民地地区产生了裂变。殖民地时期公共支持的不同类型,折射出殖民地社会对"公共"概念及其实施方式的不同理解,反映特殊条件下的公共利益与美国高等教育法人之间形成密切联系。
The colonial North America successfully established 9 highere ducation institutions.Special natural environment and the paucity of population lead to the close connection of higher education with public service andc ommunity culture from the very beginning.Unique borderline circumstancest ransformed the public meaning of community groups in the colonial areas.Int he different types of public support in the colonial period are reflected different understandings about the concept of'public'and ways of actualization int he colonial society.They account for the close link between public interestsu nder these special conditions and the formation of legal bodies in Americanh igher education.
