This paper first discusses the fundamentals of raw socket programming and then briefly describes the design of a communication protocol for Embedded system's access to Internet. By analyzing the requirements for realizing this protocol in the control end, the method for implementing it with raw socket on Windows 9x/NT/2000 platform is proposed and discussed in detail.
