摘要 There is a set of criteria for mature professions in the literature of the sociology of the professions, but a lack of a set of criteria for measuring the professional levels of a certain human activity in general. For which there are lots of difficulties in examing and improving a relatively naive human activity, such as the Chinese management consulting emerging recently.Based on the author’s four element(occupation, state, society:clients and the public, and university)interacting approach,in this paper, the author develops a theory of the movements of professionalization as a hypothesis to interpret the growing process of professional occupations.Accordingly,a set of criteria with detailed indications is built so that the professional levels of a certain human activity can be measured in general both qualitatively and quantitatively. In turn, the author re\|means the concept of professionalization,as well as forecasts a number of possible combinations of variables and their relevant professional index numbers.
