The Zhongnanshan highway tunnel in Qinling is the longest tunnel under construction in China now. For this extra long tunnel, the good and the bad of its ventilation scheme not only affect the construction scale and the operating cost, but also connect with the fire prevention and fire fighting. The several key problems of the ventilation technique and the strong and weak points of five posible ventilation scheme are discussed. Moreover, the corresponding problems for further research are presented.
