在分析DC元数据特点的基础上 ,着重说明了DC元数据格式在数字图书馆所担当的重要角色 ,并比较了两种机器可读目录 (MARC)格式与DC元数据格式的差异 .提出两者的转换对照表及相关软件 。

Digital library contains massive digital information in various medias and rich contents, which could be accessed easily and quickly by users. Metadata and its management technology play a very important role in the development of a DL, in which either the access or the search is realized on the basis of metadata. The article compared the differences between the MARC format and the DC metadata, analyzed the features of metadata and put forward a converting table for the two utilities and an integrated program.
