The Metaphors of James

本文从《雅各书》的散居处境及生命智慧的神学分析书中描摹许多大自然物象的隐喻,并得出以下三个结论:(一)生命的无常(即其飘浮、反合性);(二)生活的有机、互动性;(三)宇宙的联贯、完美性。《雅各书》的隐喻书信将真理生活化,它使用自然界或生活中的物象为隐喻,让读者熟悉真理,对事物有更深的印象,进而使他们反省生命,以致忠心、悔改,并朝向"更完全"的信心生活。《雅各书》的反合性真理不单单依据逻辑理性的分析,更以感性情趣的直觉领悟道理。真理以自临的途径能活生生地存留在读者的经验里,并活在万物的次序和天地的价值中。

The article analyzes the Book of James metaphorically,looking at its diasporic context and its theology on the wisdom of life.The metaphorical analysis concludes with three theological points:1.Life in flux;2. Interactive world;3.Wholistic cosmos.The metaphors in James translate truth into practical wisdom,and use cosmological vehicles to express truth,thus encouraging the readers to reflect on life and to live a faithful life of perfection.The essay shows that,paradoxical truth cannot be accessed via analytical logic alone,must be known in combination with emotive and intuitive means.Truth will reveal itself in the experience of the readers,as it habitats in the order and value of the cosmos.
