摘要 We examined the incidence, presentation, and outcome of patients who developed gastrointestinal bleeding after percutaneous coronary intervention for acute myocardial infarction in the Primary Angioplasty in Myocardial Infarction trials. Of the 3,130 patients, 71(2.3%) developed gastrointestinal bleeding, which was more likely to occur in elderly patients. Gastrointestinal bleeding was independently associated with a prolonged hospital stay and greater in-hospital and 6-month mortality.
