黄河下游引沁河水灌溉有数千年的历史。灌区内遗存有自秦汉至明清的碑刻数十通 ,众多碑刻显示了引沁灌溉的艰辛过程 ,勾勒出灌区渠首引水工程的变迁、灌溉渠系的构成、用水管理制度等方面的历史轮廓 ,显示出民众适应自然、改造自然的聪明才智。

Drawing water for irrigation from the Qinhe River has a history of thousands of years. There are the remains of ancient stone inscriptions concerning water from Qin Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. They reveal the hardship of drawing water from the Qinhe River, and depict the changes of the water projects, the formation of the channel systems and the water administration in the irrigation area, and show the intelligence of the people to adapt to the nature and to transform the nature.
