Experiment Study of FRP-Concrete-Steel Double-Skin Tubular Columns Subject to Axial Compression

摘要 FRP管-混凝土-钢管组合柱(DSTC)是一种有效利用复合材料特点的新型组合构件形式.为研究该组合构件短柱的轴心受压性能,笔者完成了3个双管组合短柱轴心受压试验,主要研究FRP管壁厚度对短柱轴压承载力与破坏模式的影响.试验结果表明:DSTC短柱轴压下的破坏模式为柱跨中FRP管环向断裂破坏和底部端部破坏;在其他参数相同的条件下,随着FRP管壁厚度的增大,构件极限承载力提高. FRP-concrete-steel double-skin tubular column (DSTC) is a new kind of hybrid column which makes full use of the features of FRP. To study the behavior of the short DSTCs subject to axial compression, this paper presents experiments on three short axially loaded DSTC specimens, primary for studying the impact of the thickness of FRP on its load-carrying capacity and failure mode. The test results show that short DSTC specimens exhibit two kinds of failure mode: the rupture of middle FRP outer tube and the failure of the column end. Under same conditions, the load-carrying capacity can be enhanced with the increase of the thickness of FRP.
