A Glimpse of Academic Ideology in Tang Dynasty

唐代学术处于汉学与宋学两座高峰之间 ,常易被忽略 ,但以经注、史注和《文选注》为代表的唐代注疏之学却在倡导平实的学风和以文证为主要依据的考证方法等方面 ,自有一定的成就 ,并为宋学的兴起提供了坚实的基础 。

The Tang school of classical philosophy is between the peaks of the Han school and the Song school. It is often ignored, yet it has certain achievements in initiating the learning style of being steady and realistic based on its study of notes and commentaries and in the method of textual criticism mainly based on the writings, and lays a stable foundation for the rise of the Song school, thus plays a transitional role in Chinese academic ideology.
