摘要
新闻标题的翻译应该体现"真实、准确、生动、抢眼"等特点,这一特点的处理主要集中在词汇上。文章认为,西方学者提出的"功能对等"原则可以借鉴作为指导新闻标题翻译的理论依据。文章在简要介绍"功能对等"原则的基础上,用实例证明了在新闻标题翻译中要坚持这一原则的重要性,同时较为详细地探讨了在新闻标题的实际翻译中如何运用"功能对等"的原则,以达到理想的表达效果。
The translation of News headlines should have such characteristics as 'authentic,accurate,vivid and eye-catching',which is mainly embodied in the choice of vocabulary.The author holds that the 'functional equivalence' proposed by Western scholar can be a theoretical guidance for the translation.This paper introduces briefly the 'functional equivalence' theory and then sets forth the importance of adhering to this principle in the translation of news headlines.Illustration with examples on how to put it into practical use is also given so as to achieve the ideal expression effect.
