From Collective Welfare to Market Oriented Welfare: The Policy Model Study on the China Peasants during the Transformation Time.

The relation between peasants and state is a strategic issue in modern China, the change of peasants identity and the way of life is a core issues during the China's modernization process. In the contextual of social modernization, the essence of peasant issues are industrialization and urbanization, economic security, improvement of welfare, and the identity change from peasant to the citizen. The real intention of countryside social modernization is the change or life style and promotion of life quality. The basic feature of the change of China's peasant welfare system is from 'collective welfare paradigm' to 'market oriented welfare paradigm'.
