Reflections on the Idea of Fate

法轮功和各种迷信活动的有恃无恐突现了从理论上澄清命运问题的现实紧迫性，而“命运”一词本义的神秘性和引申义的世俗性并存给命运问题的廓清增添了难度。因此，有必要从哲学价值论和认识论层面对命运问题进行反思。

Against the current spread of such superstitious activities as FaLungong and others, theoretical clarification of the idea of fate becomes urgent and necessary. The idea itself is nevertheless complicated by its mystic derivation and secularization. This essay presents a study of the different dimensions of the idea of fate in terms of its epistemological aspects and historical developments, in-cluding theist determinism and fatalism, etc.
