Literary Criticism: the Construction of the World of Meaning

批评的起点是同情与理解 ,它包含批评家的视界与作品视界的融合。但批评的目的则在于通过建构一个充满意义的世界 ,实现与作家、读者在观念领域的平等对话。从这个观点来看 ,批评的价值不在于它的客观性 。

The present author holds that the starting point of literary criticism is sympathy and understanding, which is a combination of the critic's and the literary work's viewpoints. The purpose of criticism, however, lies in the construction of a world of meaning, in which an ideological dialogue on the equal standing between the author and the reader may be successfully achieved. The value of criticism, therefor, lies more in its universality than in its objectivity.
