This paper introduces IEEE802.11a and HIPERLAN2-two standar ds of High-rate wireless LAN for operation at 5GHz, and compares them with each other. Furthermor,the similar technology of OFDM and the different MAC protocol s used in these two standards are analyzed particularly.
