Mechanical properties and structure of polystyrene/carbon nanotubes composites

摘要 研究了聚苯乙烯 /碳纳米管复合材料的力学性能 ,探讨了该材料的微观结构与性能之间的关系 .结果表明 ,在碳纳米管加入量为 1.0 %时 ,复合材料的拉伸强度和冲击韧性较高 ,综合性能达到最佳 .此时 ,碳纳米管在基体中呈纳米级分布 ,而且碳纳米管对苯乙烯的聚合过程没有阻碍作用 . Polystyrene/carbon nanotubes composites were prepared with the method of in situ polymerization. The mechanical properties of the composites were studied as well. Moreover, the relationship of the properties and the microstructure of the composites was investigated. The results showed that the addition of carbon nanotubes made tensile strength, toughness and breaking elongation of the materials increase. When the dose of carbon nanotubes was 1.0%, the composites had the best mechanical properties. Scanning electric microscope images displayed that carbon nanotubes dispersed in the matrix in nanometer scale. The more molecular weight of extracted polystyrene than that of pure polystyrene proved that the addition of carbon nanotubes was benefit to the polymerization extent of polystyrene.
