STUDY OF ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURAL MODERNIZATION

要努力创作具有中国特色的现代建筑.作为中国建筑师其重要的社会责任,就是应当学习优秀的传统建筑文化,才能从中获取有价值的文化营养.以此为基础,融合世界建筑之长,进行富于活力的创造.从寻求传统与现代相结合的角度看,目前国內建筑创作有“外西内中式”、“建筑符号式”、“新古典式”、“仿古式”等倾向,探索中虽不乏佳作,但较多的却表现出对传统的斥贬、误用、滥用,以至复古主义流行或建筑理论上的混乱.这反映了对传统建筑文化认识上的模糊与理解上的肤浅,反映了对中国建筑历史及理论研究的薄弱.中外建筑历史经验告诉我们,建筑史研究推动建筑创作,是建筑发展的一大规律,中国现代建筑创作已向广大建筑师提出了对中国建筑文化再学习、再研究的理论课题.积极提倡建筑史研究同建筑创作相结合具有重要的现实意义.

Striving to creat a modern architectural work havingChinese character,Chinese architects should study traditional architecturalculture to draw valuable nourishment from it,and consider this as a so-cial responsibilty.Their active crative work should be based on this and com-bined with all advantages of world architecture.In search for combin-ing traditional with contemporary architecture,various trends(styles)as“western in form,Chinese in content”,“neoclassicism”,and“trend afterantiques”,etc,have come into being in our architectural creation practi-ce.Although there is no lack of good works,they mostly express a rele-gation,misuse,and abuse of tradition,thus causing the booming antiquerevival and chaos of architectural theory.These phenomena reflect poorknowledge and superficial understanding of traditional culture,and weak-ness in study on history and theory of Chinese architecure.Chinese andforeign experience of architectural history reveals that study on archi-tectural history will promote architectural creation,this is one of prin-cipal laws in architectural development.The need for creating contempo-rary Chinese architecture has put forward the task for Chinese architectsto restudy Chinese architectural culture and theory.To encourage combin-ed study of architectural history with architectural creation posseses animportant and practical significance.
