Look at TANG Zhen’s New People Concept from His View of Emperor-People Relations

唐甄《潜书》对君民关系的考察是从三个不同层面着眼的。第一个层面 ,从历史上来看 ,唐甄认为君民关系是压迫与被压迫的关系 ;第二个层面 ,从社会关系上来看 ,认为君民之间处在政治机体的不同部位 ,是心与身的关系 ;第三个层面 ,从人性的角度来看 ,认为君民之间是人格平等的。唐甄的政治思想是介于传统民本和近代民主之间的过渡的思想形态———新民本思想。

Unscrambling TANG Zhen’s work Qian Shu systematically, this thesis think out that TANG Zhen looked into the relationship between emperor and people through three different points of view. The first point of view from history, TANG Zhen considered the emperors oppressed the people. The second point of view from political relation, TANG Zhen considered the emperors and people located different parts of the political economy, like the heart and body. The third point of view from personality, TANG Zhen considered the emperors and the people were equality. The thesis demonstrated TANG Zhen’s political thought was a kind of transition form New Min Men between traditional Min Ben and modern democracy.
