施大畏:激情与理智

Passion with Rational

施大畏对于自己的创作有着近乎苛刻的要求、痴迷的情愫,源自于他对绘画艺术的使命感是如此的强烈,以至于他可以为之废寝忘食,呕心沥血。我曾经把他比作希腊神话中的西西弗斯,永远在做着不可能完成的工作,当然不同的是,西西弗斯是被迫的,而施大畏,则是自愿的。

As an artist,Shi Dawei has a fastidious taste in his works and creation.Mighty sense of responsibility has always been urging him to exert all his strength in his paintings.Like Sisyphus in Greece myth, he keeps on accomplishing a mission impossible;the only difference is that, he's doing it of his own accord.As the dean of Shanghai Art Academy,Shi Dawei advocates artists' responsibilities of reflecting the swift changes of the world and pursuing distinctive styles.
