Spring is not the season for reading?Yes,it is,especially when London is geared up for the get-together of the book maniacs in the Docklands' new Excel.Our city has also experienced the surging cultural tide with the art penetrating to the depth of our life just as we are already accustomed to the abundant presence of the art places in the city.In the spring like this,will it be the hobby only to a small group of people to read a book on art?A book coming from London,such as the one published by Thames & Hudson or Phaidon will lead you to a“museum without walls”.The craving heart is like waiting for the start of a resplendent dance show.There is a fun beyond the mediocre life and it appears like a silent talk between the well-matching hearts.Only the book lovers themselves can understand that. According to Tim Godfray,Group Chief Executive of The Booksellers Association,the publishing industry is a kind of cultural industry.The insiders of this industry need more and prefer more the“face to face”communication.Both London Book Fair and Frankfurt Book Fair are the most important international book fairs.Many fair attendees launched their certain business from one book fair and then fulfill it at another.Then,what can we expect from this year's London Book Fair? In China,the cultural atmosphere was dull in early 1990s.The art news was only accessible through the independent publication within a small circle,although they were mostly not for sale and short-lived.Until 1996,Zhu Qi,the independent exhibition planner planned a“Chinese Modern Art Exchange Exhibition-In the Name of the Art”,which was considered as the earliest open exhibition of the comprehensive decoration art inside China,declaring the extension of the art from the elite culture to the public- consumed culture.Now,diversified modern cultures are shown in the art books.The application of the new media has enriched the type and the format of the art and let it become an expression of the cultural concept.There are a growing number of book-lovers and book-addicted people.Readers choose what they need according to their individual appreciation.The former utilitarian reading has been gradually replaced by the casual reading aimed at broadening personal horizon. According to Gu Bin,the deputy director of Foreign Language Book Store,“The existence of art should belongs to the general public.Don't feel that it is far from us.In our subconsciousness, everyone has his own understanding about art.Maybe you are not so professional,however,you have your own way of enjoying the art.”Reading,which is also a kind of art,could finally be integrated into everybody's life.
