李蒸先生是我国著名的教育家、爱国人士 ,民众教育思想是其教育思想中最具代表性的内容。他认为 :民众教育即是针对失学青年与成年人进行的一种教育活动 ,是中国特殊国情下的社会教育 ,目的是培养民众的最低公民自治能力。民众教育与学校教育有着很大的不同 ,应以积极的态度与牺牲精神 ,结合民众生活 ,“活用机会”地开展。民众教育思想对于当前及未来的教育事业仍具有重要意义。

Li Zhengs ideology of the masses education represents the main contents of his education ideology.He believes that the masses education is the social education and its subjects are the young dropouts and the adults.The masses education aims at training them having the basic skills and abilities of self development in the specific situation of China.Due to the great differences from school education, the masses education should be linked with their daily life.This ideology has the great significance for the present and future education.
