On Relationship of Li Shimin and Wei Zheng

长期以来 ,李世民与魏征的关系一直笼罩在明君与贤臣的光环下 ,但对这种关系之后的深层次原因 ,学界讨论尚少。历史的真相是 :初唐时期的政治、经济、民族关系 ,特别是山东问题 ,决定着二人之间的微妙关系。李世民利用魏征以笼络山东豪杰 ,并达到制约山东士族集团的目的 ;魏征则恃以山东势力 ,在中央维护山东豪杰的利益。随着山东问题重要性的下降 ,二人之间的关系也从重重假象中逐步显露出来。

This paper shows that the political,economic,and national relationship,especially the matter of Shangdong in the early days of Tang dynasty,decides the relationship of Li Shimin and Wei Zheng.Li Shimin made use of Wei Zheng to win the heroes over by all means in order to restrict the clique in Shangdong.Meanwhile,Wei Zheng relying on his power in Shangdong,protected the interests of Shangdong heroes in imperial government.However,with the importance of Shangdong matter coming down, their relationship revealed the true face.
