A couple of different multidimensional data models have been proposed. However, little has been done investigating architecture design based on multidimensional data models. This paper presents an architecture of OLAP system, which comprises of the layers of systems, the interface between layers and the functional modules of each layer. This architecture favors MOLAP over ROLAP.
