The present essay gives a full critical account of the eminent British Left-Wing thinker Perry Anderson's major theoretical works and his intellectual career,and tries to give a systematic exposition and analysis Anderson's theory of historical materialism.After some critical description,the author concludes that Anderson brought about the shift to renewals of his idea about modern society,reflected and reconstructed the theory of historical materialism.That is not just a criticism against the Western Marxism,but also a positive step forward over the classic Marxism.
