摘要
好莱坞电影中中国人形象日渐增多,且充满了对中国人的负面解读。作为好莱坞比较常见的文化范型,这种影视叙事模式是以好莱坞视角解读中国文化,对此符号形象的征用能够在潜移默化中影响世界人民对中国人的形象认知。好莱坞试图通过电影建构中国人形象模式,发掘出有利于西方文化范式在世界范围内传播拓展的因素,即否定他者、肯定自我,从而表现出西方文化的优越性。随着中国经济的复兴与强大,好莱坞电影在商业妥协中也在不断变化叙事范式,在对中国人形象的描述日趋正向的同时,仍然存在对其否定的情愫,充满了对中国人形象的焦虑与担忧。中国人作为西方文化的他者形象,从负面衬托到与之抗衡。在好莱坞新近电影中不断得到鲜明表现,另一方面好莱坞电影也在不断修正其电影文化宣传的策略。
More and more Chinese images appear in Hollywood films nowadays,but most of those characters perform as supporting roles,which can be deduced that many biases and misconceptions about Chinese in various aspects still exist among westerners.Accordingly,such kind of narrative formation and pattern,as popular cultural pattern in Hollywood film creation,interprets and processes Chinese culture from its own perspective,in which Hollywood could promote its specific value about Chinese to the world and influence the insight of the film audience.Hollywood tries to reconstruct Chinese images by films,and then digs out these extending elements for promoting western values and culture.It mainly proclaims its superiority of western culture by denying Chinese images and affirming themselves.Along with China’s economic development,Hollywood filmmakers have to adjust their narrative discourse and patterns to go after Chinese market out of commercial compromises and necessity.Some filmmakers begin to take strategies of positive interpretation to describe China and its culture,but meanwhile,they still have anxieties and concerns about Chinese characters in films.On one hand,as the other images contrast to Western culture,Chinese characters experience the evolvement from negative ones to positive ones,even as respectable opponents to westerners,are demonstrated increasingly and clearly in recent Hollywood films.On the other hand,Hollywood also continues to update relative strategies of its film promotion and culture export.
