摘要
隐喻是语言的普遍现象,隐喻性是语言的自身特性.语言的隐喻性,具体表现为词语产生的隐喻性、词义发展的隐喻性和语言运用的隐喻性.本文从语言的隐喻性出发,探讨隐喻在英语教学中的作用,说明隐喻思维能力与语法能力和交际能力一样,是人们熟练掌握一种语言的重要标志.
Metaphor is a very common phenomenon in language and hence metaphorization is a natural feature of language. This feature is vividly and objectively displayed in formation of words, semantic change of words and usage of language. Starting from this characteristic of language, this paper discusses the function of metaphor in English teaching and draws the conclusion that metaphorical thinking ability, just like grammatical ability or communication competence, is an important symbol to indicate whether one has mastered a language or not.
