摘要
上海与苏州两地相邻于长江下游,同为重要的经济城市,既有诸多相似之处,也有不少地方差异。明清以来,上海与苏州均建立了一批令人瞩目的移民性的会馆和行业性的公所,在两地的传统社会到近代社会的转换中发挥了十分重要的作用。本文主要以明清以来两地会馆公所的发展为视角,从产生背景、发展轨迹、主要功能等比较两者的异同,为了解这段历史提供新的思路和启示。
Located adjacently at the lower reaches of the Yangtze River,both Shanghai and Suzhou are important economic cities,possessing vital similarities and also local differences.After the Ming and Qing Dynasties,a batch of remarkable immigrant guild halls and trade associations were founded in Shanghai and Suzhou,playing an essential role in transforming the traditional society into modern one in both cities.In the perspective of the development of those guild halls and associations,the article compares their backgrounds,development paths and major functions,providing readers with new ideas and inspiration in understanding this phase of history.
