People Grand Theatre located on Jiujiang Road is a century-old theatre in Shanghai.Going through demolition and reconstruction twice,it enjoyed a high reputation in the drama history.By collecting materials for many years,the author finally understands the development course of the Theatre and he has compiled those important events during its early days in order to provide some detailed historical materials for the research on Peking Opera history in Shanghai,hoping that feedbacks and corrections can be obtained from insiders.
