摘要
震旦女子文理学院是天主教耶稣圣心修女会于20世纪初亚洲中国上海第一所、很长一段时间内唯一的综合性女子大学。学院历时十四年,培养毕业生395名,学生千余名,在中国女子教会大学史和上海教育史上具有重要意义。本文分析学院设立的目的、选择上海的原因、'借壳立案'的缘由,介绍学院概况,总结办学成就,并把其成功归结为五个方面:战乱中上海的相对稳定、非常时期的正常需求,学院的宗教背景,是学院唯一性的特殊举措。
As the only women’s college founded by Catholic in China,Aurora College for Women is the first and only comprehensive women’s college in Shanghai during a long period as well as the first women’s college founded by Sisters of Sacred Heart in Asia.During 14 years,the College cultivated 395 graduates and over 1,000 students,playing an important role in the history of missionary college for women in China and education in Shanghai.The article analyzes the aim of its foundation and the reason why it chose Shanghai,introduces its general situation and summarizes its achievements,attributing its success to five aspects:the relative stability of Shanghai in wartime,the normal demand during emergency period,and the religious background,uniqueness and special measures of the College.
