摘要
指纹自动识别系统因其本身的特殊性对指纹图像压缩提出了特殊的要求，为满足这些要求，我们提出了面向指纹自动识别的指纹图像压缩的评价标准和基于小波变换的考虑特征点区域的指纹图像压缩算法。
To meet the special demands for finger print image compression of automatic finger print identification system, this paper has proposed a new evaluation criterion for finger print image compression and a new finger print image compression algorithm based on wavelet transformation and minutia region protection.
