Shaaxi Polytechnic Institute is registered by state ministry of education, and is also full-time system superior academy for superior career education. It grows out of Xianyang Machine-made School. 40,000 students have graduated during the past fifty years. Now 1,011 staffs and 5,000 students are working in the institute. It owns 266.7 thousand square metres, and has five departments : machinery, electric, material, industrial and commercial management, humanity civilization history, and a basic course teaching department. It also has 33 comprehensive laboratories.
