The Global Change Institute(GCI) building, which located in Universityof Queensland has been designed to work with the natural environment and will operate as a zero-energy and carbon neutral workplace. The expression of the GCI Building's facade is identified by the outer operable layer of double curved longitudinal moving screens that respond to environmental conditions. It also be characterised by the translucent ETFE roof which has excellent heat-resistant properties. It will be naturally ventilated for most of the year and generate and store all its own power on-site through renewable solar energy sources,it also represents the first Australian use of structural Geopolymer concrete.
