我们认为建筑设计与社会福利不可分割。虽然人们常常把福利理解为具体的物品或服务,尤其指健全的医疗保障和优质的教育资源,但福利其实也包含许多非物质概念,如安全平等的环境、人们之间的信任团结。这种福利所带来的价值不受社会类型或建筑类型所限。本文详述了建筑设计领域的福利概念,以及福利怎样与绿色可持续设计相结合,并列举了5个不同类型的设计案例,阐述了建筑设计如何为广泛的社会群体带来福利。他们中有的日常生活直接与这些建筑紧密联系,有的则在建筑带给社会的福利中受益。
Welfare needs to be an integral part of how we define and design our built environment. Although people often think of welfare as certain goods provided to the citizens, especially such as healthcare supported by good hospitals and eldercare homes, and education supported by innovative learning environments, welfare also encompasses immaterial values such as safety, equality and solidarity among different groups of citizens. The promotion of such values is not limited to any sector of society or any type of building. In this article we elaborate on welfare, and how it goes hand in hand with a holistic concept of sustainability. We also show selected examples from our own work to illustrate how architecture can promote welfare to a large and diverse group of people, both those who directly use the building and those who simply reap the benefits of what the building gives back to the society.
