Data mining is the knowledge discovery technology based on data warehouse. When the data warehouse capacity is very huge, carrying on exhaustive search is not viable, so must adopt a kind of valid search strategy. The genetic algorithm not only has the good overall search ability, but also can deal with the relationship between attributes in database. The dissertation discuses how to use genetic al- gorithm in the realm of data mining.
